terei que nascer
em cada manhã
trazendo a luz do que vi
até ao berço do silêncio-
terei que conhecer nos espelhos
a fatal palavra dos que cantam
e então as plantas as rochas
os rios os pássaros
todos entrarão em mim
como se eu fosse hóspede deles-
terei que residir
nas pegadas ainda frescas
dos animais que dentro de mim já hibernam-
terei que perguntar finalmente
ao primeiro passante
se o mundo é mesmo assim
água terra e sangue
e o volátil desejo da respiração-

And then plants rocks
The rivers the birds
Everyone will come to me
As if I were their guest-

I will have to reside
In the fresh footprints
Of the animals that already hibernate within me-

I will finally have to ask
To the first by-passer
If the world is like this
Earth water and blood
